The ILS&OPS Engineer will be based at the “Roma HQ” and will be included in the "Logistics and Operations Engineering” department.
The department deals with the study, development and validation of operational and maintenance processes and procedures for complex satellites ground segment systems. Activities are carried out following the standards applied to the space programs (mainly ECSS) and, where necessary, with the support of architectural frameworks (e.g. DoDAF, MoDAF, ...) and international best practices (e.g. ASD, S1000D, S3000L ...)
The main tasks of the candidate – who will be trained on-the-job to acquire all the needed knowledge – will be:
Study of the architecture of ground segments, analysis and derivation of the operational & logistic requirements
Define/support ILS&OPS scenarios based on the indications given by the Project Manager/Responsible and of project documentation.
Operational Analysis execution, with particular attention to the definition of system/operational concepts (CONOPS) and related operational tasks
Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) execution, with particolar attention to the definition of maintenance concepts and related maintenance tasks
Support of Availability Analysis (e.g. reliability analysis (MTBF); FMEA/FMECA; FTA (Fault Tree Analysis); Maintainability Analysis) Quantitative analysis of spare parts
Support of Safety Analysis
Identification of training needs, preparation of the necessary training material; training execution (as necessary)
Job requirements:
Master’s Degree in Engineering (5-years degree)
Sound knowledge of Operations Management and Integrated Logistics Support
Sound knowledge of RAMS analysis
Sound knowledge of Modeling / System Engineering Methodologies (e.g. UML / SysML)
Good knowledge of the English language (ref .: QCER / CEFR> B1)
MS-Office knowledge and basic knowledge of Microsoft Project
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Preferential Position Requirements
Good programming skills (in particular Java and Visual Basic) and knowledge of related languages, including mark-up languages (e.g. XML, …)
