Job Summary

Aerospace is seeking a Facilities Operations Manager to support its Facilities Operations and Maintenance department. This position is responsible for the supervision of employees who maintain and repair facilities infrastructure systems and equipment. This role sets priorities, forecasts, and allocates resources needed to perform routine, corrective, and preventive maintenance, installations, and modifications.

Work Model

This position will be located 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing oversight of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team consisting of supervisor of electricians and maintenance craft technicians and direct supervision and supporting of HVAC and plumbing trades.
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, and managing the performance of technicians and supervisor to ensure their growth and success within the O&M department.
  • Assigning work, monitoring workflow, and ensuring work is completed on time and according to specifications helping to ensure task service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
  • Assisting with budget planning spend tracking.
  • Developing efficient cost effective means of facilities management.
  • Ensuring optimal functioning of buildings and associated equipment.
  • Procuring and overseeing vendors responsible for services such as chillers and boilers maintenance, water treatment, gas detection systems, LN2 systems, café hoods, grease traps and drain systems to name a few.
  • Working with the Facilities Engineering and Construction teams on construction and capital improvement projects by reviewing drawings and submittals, attending progress meetings, coordinating shutdowns, and providing input during commissioning and project turnover.
  • Coordinating with Capital Planning team providing forecasts for capital and overhead equipment replacement.   

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four or more years of related experience in the Facilities Operations and Maintenance field
  • Previous experience directly supervising individuals working in the mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and general maintenance trades
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Valid Driver’s License (driving company vehicle building to building)

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:  

  • Two-year degree in related field
  • International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and/or Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) designations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Experience overseeing and/or providing support to construction projects
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system
  • Hands-on experience operating building automation controls with the ability to identify and correct issues related to the system

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
