ispace Technologies U.S. is seeking a highly motivated and talented PLM Architect and Subject Matter Expert.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, upgrade, and expand SolidWorks PDM and other CAD PDM/PLM systems in a young organization
  • Develop, implement, and maintain CAD standards, templates, libraries, configurations, and workflows
  • Participate in creation of Part Families, including support of Mechanical Routing application (Tubing, Piping, Harnessing)
  • Perform as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Engineering Design, Drafting, modeling standards
  • Mentor, prepare and deliver training to engineers
  • Possess a full understanding and knowledge of Bills of Materials
  • Coordinate with external vendors to provide additional CAD, PDM, PLM support
  • Contribute to a PLM selection and implementation effort
  • Imagine, propose, and implement new engineering software solutions to improve product development efficiency and decrease development risks
  • Review and help improve the engineering data organization, templates, and data management processes
  • Help document relevant engineering processes and write/update procedures, standards with input from the appropriate stakeholders
  • Maintain cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain users and stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate degree and 8+ years (or BS and 5+ years) of relevant technical/admin experience, ideally in the aerospace industry. We will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a hardware new product development and/or manufacturing engineering organization
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience implementing, maintaining, customizing, and upgrading SolidWorks CAD & PDM
  • Experience working within a structured Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) framework (e.g. TeamCenter, 3D Experience, Aras, etc.) and PLM-ERP interaction
  • Understanding and experience of Configuration Management from engineering to manufacturing
  • Prior experience in PLM concepts and functionalities, familiarization with design best practices, industry standards, drawing/drafting standards.
  • Proof of excellent written communication and technical writing skills
  • Thrive in ambiguous and fast-changing environments, passionate about technology and using  best practices to develop cutting edge systems and an organization focused on efficiency and results

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in the Aerospace industry
  • Other Mechanical CAD experience (e.g. Creo, Catia, etc.)
  • Experience with Altium or other Electrical CAD software
  • Experience with Atlassian, especially customization of JIRA (workflows, screens, fields, db)
  • Basic experience with SQL databases (management, set-up, GUIs, scripting for data import/export/synchronization)
  • Some experience with APIs for CAD PDM, PLM systems, ERP systems, and JIRA
  • Scripting and some programming experience (e.g. PDM/PLM automation) a plus
  • Interest and background in Knowledge and Configuration Management concepts and systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or similar Engineering/Technical degree. We will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced design and development environment
  • Schedule may vary depending on program development needs; flexibility required
