Job description
Duties
- Develop and implement strategic direction and plans for climate innovation initiatives for the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in coordination with Goddard Earth Sciences Division.
- Represent the Goddard Institute for Space Studies at high-profile events, including media, industry, and other external activities.
- Lead external community engagement to establish new partnerships and scientific opportunities at the Goddard Institute for Space Studies.
- Serve as a liaison to NASA HQ and other government agencies to support and expand climate innovation initiatives at the GISS campus.
- Organize routine industry, external, or other partner engagement activities at GISS to bring together the community around core areas of climate innovation aligned with the strategic framework for climate innovation.
- Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Champion NASA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility to create an environment that promotes a commitment to safety, integrity, and teamwork.

Qualifications
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
- Leading a group or team to complete work that is focused on climate services, climate modeling, or climate technologies;
- Developing strategic initiatives and implementing project plans to include climate innovation or Earth system science; and
- Managing collaborations or partnerships with a group of stakeholders on a range of projects or programs related to climate research or climate technology development.
