As a flight hardware TIG Welder, you will be responsible for building the primary structure (tanks) of our rocket, high- and low-pressure tubing, and multiple other flight critical parts. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, have a strong understanding of welding techniques, demonstrate a commitment to producing high-quality work and work collaboratively with stakeholders to solve problems. Our welders are key to ABL's success and build the foundation for our to meet our goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform TIG welding with variety of materials including aluminum alloys, stainless steel alloys, nickel alloys and refractory alloys
- Read and interpret blueprints, work Instructions and engineering specifications
- Provide feedback to engineering for design or process Improvements
- Cut, form, bend, and grind various metallic assemblies in preparation for welding
- Perform basic weld Inspections on finished products to Identify defects and corrective actions
- Maintain equipment In a condition that meets all safety and quality policies
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years TIG welding
- Experience welding aluminum alloys, stainless steel alloys, and steel alloys
- Ability to read and Interpret blueprints
- Ability to read and Interpret various measurement devices; caliper, pi tape, tape measure, angle finder, etc.
- Experience using various power tools; vertical band saw, horizontal band saw, bench grinder, pedestal belt sander, etc
- Experience using various handheld power tools; die grinder, pencil grinder, drill, router, circular saw, dynafile, etc
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years TIG welding In the aerospace industry
- Basic machining ability (manual lathe, manual mill)
- Experience MIG welding
- Computer literacy skills; powerpoint, word, excel, etc
This is the lowest to highest compensation range we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
