Job description

Turion Space is seeking an experienced DevOps engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the integrity and security of Turion's CI/CD pipelines of applications to help manage our ground segment, automate our development pipelines, and help build the infrastructure that runs all of our applications. The ideal candidate should be a problem solver who enjoys coding, understands the CI/CD pain points, and is excited to use systems administration, networking, and development experience to integrate the technology stack into an overall DevOps solution delivering high reliability and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy, upgrade, operate/maintain, and scale our suite of mission critical products and services
Manage our underlying infrastructure as code and use modern observability tools to tell a complete story of application health
Closely collaborate with software engineers to create highly operable and maintainable products
Engage in and improve the whole software development lifecycle of services -- from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement
Participate in the team’s on-call rotation periodically
Focus on performance bottlenecks and performance improvement techniques
Ensure the secure and efficient development, deployment, and maintenance of applications in an AWS environment
Automate CI/CD workflows allowing developers to focus on software design and development tasks

Minimum Qualifications

BS in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
2+ years of DevOps and infrastructure development experience
Demonstrated ability to design, build, and test software infrastructure from scratch
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and emerging containerization technologies
Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience

Prior experience in a DevOps or similar role within an AWS environment
Experience working within a microservices environment
Experience building complex systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
