Enterprise Engineering (EE): This role is part of EE, where we provide technical standards, tools, processes, training, and subject matter expertise for product engineering and manufacturing. EPM allows all Blue Origin business units to benefit from commonly used capabilities, hardware, and software and assists business units in identifying, selecting, and training engineers from both inside and outside the organization.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse Human Factors Engineers, you will bring foundational knowledge in Human Factors fundamentals and a desire to contribute to the creation of human-centered designs that champion efficient and effective interactions in space and on the ground.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the application of Human Factors principles to support design decisions that focus on user needs and ergonomic considerations.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of human-system interfaces with direct mentorship from senior team members, ensuring alignment with Human Factors standards.
  • Conduct technical analyses within the team framework, with moderate oversight, ensuring that all human-system interfaces are adequately considered.
  • Execute well-defined analysis projects as articulated by the manager or team leader.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
  • Minimum of a B.S. in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in human factors engineering or human-centered system design
  • Solid experience with human modeling tools such as Human Builder or Tecnomatix, demonstrating an ability to efficiently create and manipulate detailed ergonomic models and simulations.
  • The ideal candidate will showcase proactive leadership skills, including the ability to inspire collaboration, openly share knowledge, and drive projects to completion with a focus on innovative solutions in human factors engineering.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a technical field related to human factors
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Factors Engineering or human-centered system design
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration, recognizing the interplay between human factors and adjacent teams in project development.
  • Skills for planning and documentation, with some experience in communicating technical content to program team members or customers.
  • A proven problem-solver with the ability to address moderately complex issues, guided by established processes.
  • A desire for continuous learning, willingness to mentorship, and a collaborative spirit that improves team efforts.

Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $89,820-$119,760

Other site ranges may differ

Paid Time Off:  Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
