Northrop Grumman Classified Solution is seeking a Staff Computer Systems Analyst with well-qualified Linux Administrator experience to join its dynamic team of technical professionals in the Northridge, California.  

Roles and responsibilities include but not limited to:


•    Perform as primary Linux System Administrator for a high-performance computing (HPC) system operated under a classified government contract. HPC infrastructure includes InfiniBand network, Lustre parallel file system, and NVIDIA GPUs.
•    Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization with internal or external customers, in written and oral format.
•    Analyze internal or external customer requirements and recommend equipment, software, and procedures to address requirements.
•    Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
•    Provide backup and recovery services; manage file systems and disk space; manage virus protection on a routine basis as directed by government cyber security and company policy.
•    Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions as directed by policy.
•    Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
•    Develop and maintain technical processes and procedures as needed.
•    Maintain security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Cyber Security team.
•    Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.

Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.


The selected candidate for this position is required to be on-site in Northridge, CA.

Basic qualifications for a Staff Computer Systems Analyst level (T05): 


Associate’s degree with 16 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 14 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 12 years of experience; a High School diploma or equivalent with 18 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.

Technical abilities and experience:
Experience maintaining Classified Linux Domains in effective operations to included:
•    Experience in system administration and technical support (e.g. installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, retirement, problem resolution)
•    Hands-on Linux experience (e.g. RHEL, Centos, SUSE) and production infrastructure support (e.g. networking, storage, monitoring, compute, installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, retirement)
•    Experience in HPC technologies such as parallel/distributed files systems (e.g. Lustre, GPFS), high speed interconnect fabrics (e.g. Infiniband, Omni-Path), and HPC batch scheduling software suites (e.g. PBSPro, SLURM)
•    Maintaining compliance via STIGs
•    Familiarity with configuration and workflow tools such as GitLab, Jira
•    Experience working with vulnerability scanning tools.
Clearance and access
•    **Current active Secret clearance 
•    Must have the ability to obtain and maintain access to program as a condition of continued employment.

Non-Technical abilities and certs
•    Currently valid Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar DOD 8570 security certification.  Certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
•    Ability to travel as needed.
•    Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience giving technical presentation to technical and non-technical attendees
•    Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification
•    Experience with Certification & Accreditation process
•    Experience with various implementations of MPI (e.g. openMPI, Intel MPI, MPICH, MPICH2)
•    Strong script writing ability (e.g. bash, perl, python)
•    The ability to code in C, C++, Fortran
•    Able to modify Makefiles and build source code
•    Understand GPU’s
•    An understanding of CAD and meshing tools
•    Understanding of RF
•    Working knowledge of containers, specifically Warewulf
•    Ability to tweak kernel parameters to optimize various run jobs

Salary Range: $149,900.00 - $224,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
