Job Summary

Enterprise Information Services is responsible for Aerospace’s classified and unclassified enterprise IT environment. As an Enterprise Network Technician (Network Operations Specialist I/II), you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure hardware supporting classified and unclassified networks in an all Cisco campus environment. You will join a company that develops cutting edge solutions for our nation’s most complex space enterprise and mission assurance challenges. You will work with both business as well as technical leaders to develop requirements and the implementation of new infrastructure services. You will become part of the Network Services Department, which is responsible for the enterprise network at 24 locations for the Aerospace Corporation. 

Work Model

This is a full time position based in El Segundo, CA, which requires 100% onsite work.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Primary support of classified networks at our El Segundo campus
  • Secondary support of unclassified networks that provide access to productivity applications, research and development and cloud based services
  • Responsible for the configuration and installation of all access layer switches supporting classified networks, unclassified networks, security, access control, CCTV and building automation
  • Troubleshoot network related issues with our on-site end user support team supporting Windows, Mac and Linux endpoints
  • Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting any campus dark fiber issues and overseeing the installation, certification and repair of our campus fiber infrastructure 
  • Supports our Cisco ACI SDN network infrastructure at our colocation facility that provides 1/10/25/40/100 Gbps connectivity to our servers, storage and HPC computing resources
  • Works directly with our Facilities department on new copper and fiber installations and reviews the testing/certification results provided by the cabling contractors 

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Networks Operations Specialist I

  • Associate of Science Degree in a network related area
  • 5 years of experience supporting a campus enterprise network supporting 2000-3000 users
  • CompTia Security+ CE (SY0-601 or SY0-701) for privileged user access
  • Ability to configure and install Cisco Catalyst 4500, 6500, 9300 and 9400 series switches supporting core, distribution or access layer functions
  • Ability to configure, maintain & troubleshoot 802.1X authentication on all access layer swtiches
  • Willing to travel (occasionally to work location or customer site/domestically) approx. two weeks per year if required.   
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Network Operations Specialist II include:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an IT related discipline
  • 7 years of experience supporting a campus enterprise network supporting 2000-3000 users
