Duties
- Interprets and implements policy related to law enforcement training.
- Develops law enforcement training strategies adhering to internal and external standards.
- Oversees the design and development of training curricula to ensure practices are current and applicable to law enforcement and security missions.
- Maintains current law enforcement training accreditation standards.
- Provides objective evaluation of agency standards and operations through use of inspection/investigation techniques and compliance audits.

- If selected, you must be able to obtain and maintain the following license/certification: Federal Arrest Authority.
- If selected, you must be able to meet the criteria for use of a firearm in accordance with the Federal Arrest Authority.
- If selected, you must be able to meet the standard and training qualifications in strict compliance with 14 CFR, Chapter V, Part 1203b.103, Security Programs Arrest Authority, and Use of Force by NASA Security Force Personnel.
Qualifications
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:
- Assessing law enforcement training needs for long- and short-term education and development planning;
- Validating performance in meeting law enforcement training needs from an operational and financial perspective; and
- Advising on all matters related to law enforcement training, weapons, and equipment to ensure security standards are met.

This appointment may be extended beyond the initial appointment date, for a period not to exceed a total of six years.
