Job description

As a Senior Automation & Controls Specialist at Impulse, you will be responsible for the installation of industrial machinery, production machines, and test equipment. This includes electrical wiring, pneumatics, PLCs, and industrial controls hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Install industrial controls hardware to NFPA 70 and NFPA 79 standards
  • Wire and/or modify control panels to UL508A standards
  • Maintain an electrical shop, tools, consumables, and controls hardware inventory
  • Program/configure various industrial controls hardware (such as VFDs, motor starters, basic PLCs, electronic circuit breakers, etc.)
  • Review and redline drawings
  • Provide design feedback to engineering
  • Use of EPlan for generating reports, manufacturing data, etc.
  • Create, maintain, and update assigned tasks for documenting and reporting work

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Associates degree in science, or related field 
  • 5+ years of automated work in a relevant field (manufacturing/test/R&D)
  • 4+ years working on electrical control systems
  • 4+ years working on pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems
  • 2+ years working on robotic systems
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors' degree in engineering, or related field 
  • Demonstrated experience working with oftware: EPlan and TwinCAT
  • Certifications: NFPA 70E Certification and/or OSHA 10 Certification (or greater)
  • Working on systems up to 480VAC
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated comprehension of schematics, and electrical hardware troubleshooting

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
