Details:

We’re on the hunt for a Engineering Student on our Mission Operations Department at our Brampton office. The ideal candidate is available for 8 months, starting in September 2024. Please indicate your availability when submitting your application and include a copy of your transcript

Overall the successful candidate would be treated similar to a new graduate joining our company, where tasks will be assigned relative to the level of schooling and experience achieved to date. Work will involve mathematical modelling, CAD modelling, requirements derivation and writing, and general support to the rest of the engineering team.  The candidate will document their work and participate in system level technical discussions when required.

Responsibilities:

The Engineering Students will help on the L&SE or GERS programs with engineering duties which could include:

  • Modelling and simulations of space station payloads.
  • Requirements development or assessment
  • Writing S/W tools to aid in trending or simulation
  • Performing trending of hardware performance
  • Helping with maintenance and reconfiguration of DREAMR lab (an Augmented and Virtual reality enabled zero-g robotics facility)
  • Some clerical tasks related to Crown property management and tracking.

 

Qualifications:

Interested candidates should be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems, Engineering Physics, or Computer Engineering and/or Applied Mathematics, Science or Physics. 

  • The student should possess strong mathematical skills and experience in CAD modelling.
  • A strong ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as a member of a team is required.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills are essential to this position.

 

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

The compensation range for this position is $23 - $26 hourly. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
