Company Description: Starlab Space LLC is a US-led transatlantic joint venture between Voyager Space, Airbus, and Mitsubishi Corporation that is designing, building, and will operate the Starlab commercial space station. Starlab will serve a global customer base of space agencies, researchers, and companies, ensuring a continued human presence in low-Earth orbit and a seamless transition of microgravity science and research from the International Space Station into the new commercial space station era.

 

Position Description: 

The Compliance & Information Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring policies and procedures related to the Company’s data administration, security and integrity. The goal of the Compliance & Information manager is to ensure the processes and procedures for data organization and management meet both the short-term and long-term needs for the Company.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

Compliance & Information Manager

  • Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Government, NASA and other applicable data standards and regulations
  • Monitor data quality and integrity
  • Identify and address data security risks
  • Conduct data audits and reviews
  • Manage data access and usage
  • Develop and implement data tools and technologies in conjunction and cooperation with the IT Dept.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
  • Collaborate with the IT Dept. and business teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance
  • Provide ongoing training and education on changing regulations to leadership and staff members
  • Monitor and report data compliance to management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
  • Prepare and submit reports to US and other government agencies

 

Knowledge Manager

  • Develop and maintain data libraries, dictionaries and metadata repositories
  • Train and educate stakeholders on data governance best practices
  • Coordinate with program and business leaders to optimize the security, availability and use of data

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university 
  • Four (4) or more years of developing, implementing and monitoring policies and procedures related data administration, security and integrity 

 

Preferences:

  • Experience in aerospace industry is a plus
  • Certified Information Technology Manager (CITM) is a plus

 

 

 

To meet obligations and signed agreements with NASA which allow access to necessary and critical data to perform these duties, you must be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from NASA, which authorization would not be granted for persons born in, or who have current or dual citizenship in, Russia, China (PRC) or any country from the designated countries list (https://www.state.gov/state-sponsors-of-terrorism/) that is on the State Sponsors of Terrorism list.

 

 

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
