Here at The Exploration Company we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit, and which carries cargo – and potentially humans in the longer run.
We want you as a talented engineer to join the GNC team and support us by working on our GNC analysis tools.
Key Responsibilities
In your capacity as an Intern in the GNC team, you will participate in the following tasks:
- Participate in the design and implementation of the AOCS/GNC subsystem of The Exploration Company’ spacecraft
- Design, synthesis, test, implementation, verification, and validation of GNC algorithms
- Create tools, applications, and execution pipelines to run and postprocess GNC analyses
- Contribute to the development of high fidelity 6 degrees of freedom models
- AOCS/GNC hardware modeling and simulation
- Specify, conduct, and analyze auto-generated GNC code
- Perform design, optimization, and dispersion analyses
- Reporting of test results and analyses, with a focus on efficient and automated documentation
What we would love to see from you
In the role of GNC Intern Engineer, you will ideally have the following:
- Enrolled in an Aerospace Engineering Program or related engineering discipline
- Educational background in Guidance, Navigation and Control
- Academic experience in C, Python or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Understanding of classical dynamics, orbital and flight mechanics, modeling and simulation, and software development
- Highly motivated to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up environment
- Fluent in English. German or French is an asset
- Ability to work equally well unsupervised or as part of a team
- Strong organizing and prioritisation of tasks
- Positive and flexible attitude to get the job done
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the business
