We are seeking cleared Senior Principal Cyber Software Engineers in a variety of technical disciplines who are self-motivated and energetic with a background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Essential Functions:

The successful candidates will participate in a broad range of technologies with exposure to a variety of technical disciplines (as described below) that provide critical solutions to U.S. government agencies and the Department of Defense. Many of the problem-sets our customer expect us to solve do not have known solutions, so ingenuity is essential. We are pushing the boundaries and defining what is possible in cyber intelligence space.

This position involves developing solutions to national security threats with products that may involve kernel development, reverse engineering or vulnerability research of network and communication systems. The position requires solid software development skills including a familiarity with scripting languages. Knowledge of computer networking, modern software development environments, UI/UX design, web development, and software configuration management tools is a plus.

This technical discipline includes:

  • Network protocols TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, SSL, etc.

  • Network Systems Administration

  • UI/UX Graphic Design

  • Front End Development (Angular/React, JavaScript, experience working with REST interfaces)

  • Cloud Development (AWS)

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 9 years of relevant work experience OR M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 7 years of relevant work experience. NOTE: 4 years of relevant work experience can be substituted for the degree.

  • US Citizenship is required

  • Active Top Secret clearance is required

  • Demonstrated software programming experience in web applications.

  • Demonstrated team or product leadership.

  • Experienced with Front End Development (Angular/React, JavaScript)

  • Familiar with Cloud Development (AWS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

  • Experience in software development to include any of the following: web applications, cloud applications, test automation.

  • Experience with SDLC (software development life cycle)

  • Experience working with REST interfaces

  • Experience with virtual machines

  • Familiarity with common source control tools (git, Mercurial, etc.) and automated build system workflows (Jenkins, Go, etc.)

  • Experience with the Agile methodology

  • Experience with Networking and Systems Administration

Northrop Grumman has 401k matching and personal growth opportunities. In addition, we offer a flexible work arrangement and the option of a 9/80 or 4/10 work schedule. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work nine-hour days Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. The 4/10 schedule allows employees to work four ten-hour days Monday through Thursday and take off every Friday.

Salary Range: $107,300.00 - $160,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
