Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position is in Melbourne, Florida. 

We are looking for a motivated Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our Research and Advanced Design (RAD) / Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) team. We are looking for innovative thinkers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, giving verbal presentations, and self-educating without direct supervision. The candidate must have a firm understanding of traditional systems engineering concepts and methodologies and must be able to apply and adjust these concepts and methodologies to an accelerated process in the early stages of the engineering design. The candidate must be familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), be able to work within an agile environment, and be an “out of the box” thinker. As a Systems Engineer working in the Operations and Mission Analysis IPT, you will be responsible for creating scenarios, designing focused vignette threads and performing analysis. The analysis includes a wide variety of system types and span multiple domains (friendly and adversary; ground, maritime, air and space). This drives the development of clean-sheet requirements, refines existing program system requirements, and influences the pursuit of future technologies and capabilities. You will be expected to adhere to sound engineering processes, in accordance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Essential Functions:

• Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis
• Models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation, and recommends alternative architectures
• Perform mission engineering activities to ensure continuity between desired operational capabilities and delivered system performance, through the Systems Engineering “V”
• Ensure performance capabilities of new systems and architectures are traded against cost and mission requirements; develop mission relevant scenarios; assess operational effectiveness of existing and emerging systems and capabilities in representative operational environments
• Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization
• Support the development and review engineering products and artifacts
• Support program reviews and assist in resolution of technical challenges
• Support the analysis of complex problems and the development of solutions
• Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering methodologies
              

Basic Qualifications: 
• Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 9 years of experience in engineering; OR Master of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 7 years of experience in engineering; OR PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 4 years of experience in engineering.
• Experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering.
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications: 
• Active Top-Secret clearance.
• Active SAP.
• Experience in integrating complex system across multiple domains.
• Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers.

Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
