Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and dedicated HR professional to join our full-service HR team which supports a total workforce of over 800 employees across 3 business units.  This role supports our Advanced Communications and Mission Applications (ACMA) business with approximately 300 employees located in Colorado Springs and Aurora, CO and Valley Forge, PA.  You will provide HR support to the ACMA business working under the direction of the HR Lead for the ACMA business.  The successful candidate will develop strong working relationships with employees and managers, be able to develop and implement processes, have superior organizational, administrative and communication skills, be adaptable and able to successfully work in a fast-paced environment.

The position is an on-site position located in Aurora, CO and will require travel to the Colorado Springs, CO location on a somewhat regular basis and occasional travel to Valley Forge, PA.

 Responsibilities:

  • Proactively work with managers and employees to create a productive HR Business partnership
  • Provide support to the staffing process by inputting position requisitions into the staffing system
  • Manage pre-employment and onboarding activities
  • Conduct new hire orientation
  • Play an active role in the planning and execution of the intern and coop program
  • Assist in the development and execution of employee engagement activities
  • Help to administer compensation programs and processes to include salary analyses related to offers, promotions and other adjustments, and administration of the merit, bonus and promotion planning processes as well as the Company’s reward and recognition programs
  • Act as a resource regarding HR policies and processes
  • Support compliance related activities and audits to ensure the business is compliant with all government regulations as well as internal Company policies
  • Under the guidance of the ACMA HR lead, provide employee relations support and HR guidance and counsel to the employees and managers
  • Execute other HR duties as required

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Minimum of 2 years of HR related experience
    • Basic understanding of HR laws and regulations
    • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
    • Takes initiative, learns quickly, looks for opportunities to add value
    • Ability to form strong relationships with employees at different levels, in different functions, and with different experiences
    • Ability to effectively develop and manage processes
    • Ability to manage many different tasks, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing conditions and requirements
    • Ability to work more than 40 hours/week as needed

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with HR systems for staffing, onboarding, compensation, and performance

    Pay Range:  $75,000 - $90,000

    Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

    Location:

    This position is based out of ARKA’s nature abundant Aurora, CO campus. Being situated at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, Aurora provides opportunities to enjoy all the beautiful nature that Colorado has to offer, while also being a 20-minute drive from downtown Denver and 15-minutes to the Denver International Airport.

    The position will require travel to the Colorado Springs, CO location on a somewhat regular basis and occasional travel to Valley Forge, PA.
