Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) seeks a highly qualified individual to represent the interests of the LCS Class Mission Package program as a Technical Services Engineer-Mission Module Maintenance Engineer (MMME) / Planner for maintenance and sustainment of all Mission Package equipment world-wide.  This position will be located at Mission Module Readiness Center (MMRC) Mayport Office-Jacksonville, FL. The position may require support and travel to the Mission Package Support Facility (MPSF) and affiliated MMRCs, Forward Operating Sites (FOS) and Remote Operating Sites (ROS) locations worldwide. 

What You'll Get To Do:

The MMME will be responsible for the overall maintenance execution of the MPSF Mission Package assets embarked on the LCS Class ships in theater to ensure fleet maintenance and logistics support requirements are appropriately supported.   The ideal candidate will be familiar with the operational and maintenance requirements of the mission package to ensure their mission readiness and will serve as the primary representative for all mission package maintenance and modernization that occurs in theater.   

As the Planner, the candidate will be responsible for the coordination and planning of all scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance on 30MM Gun Weapons Systems, 11 MTR RIB Boats and Mission Module support containers that are embarked on all LCS ships for the east coast. In addition, the candidate will be coordinating with embarked Mission Package stakeholders (e.g., Commanding Officer and staff, Maintenance Officer, Port Engineer) for maintenance and repairs during availabilities, and processes all maintenance related documentation during and after maintenance availabilities to all stakeholders on and off ship.

As the senior NGC representative on site, the candidate will be an effective communicator who will provide day-to-day direction to NG permanent party and deployed availability / flyaway team personnel on site as well as manage local asset coordination with IPT leadership.

Serving in a capacity consistent with that of a Port Engineer (PE), the MMME/Planner will work with key Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop, screen/broker, prioritize, execute and report availability actions and plans to ensure equipment readiness meets the demands of COMLCSRON ONE, COMLOGWESTPAC, and DESRON-7 operational requirements.   A key function of this position will include interface with the ship’s crew, department heads, and Commanding Officer to coordinate and resolve mission package related maintenance and repair actions relative to the maintenance plan.  The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the LCS Class Mission Package program consisting of:

  • Surface Warfare (SUW) MM equipment including, Mk 50 Gun System comprised of the          Mk44/Mk46 Gun components, and 11-Meter RIBs
  • Mine Countermeasure (MCM) MM equipment
  • Additional Future Capabilities

The MMME/Planner candidate shall be experienced in planning and estimating support for the maintenance and repair of the Mission Package.  Duties include but are not limited to maintenance availability planning and supervision, embark and debark planning and supervision, and life cycle sustainment planning and execution.  Related duties will include project management, logistics support, and material readiness management. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Identify and schedule Planned Maintenance System (PMS) requirements
  • Utilize Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) to create, manage, screen and schedule  Automated Work Notification (AWN) (i.e., 2K) for workload determination
  • Work with equipment SME to identify corrective maintenance requirements
  • Identify other maintenance requirements (assessments)
  • Coordinated Ship Maintenance Plan (CSMP) Management
  • Execute Planned and Corrective Maintenance Planning Support (PMAV/CMAV) Availabilities
  • Determining personnel required (numbers and skills)
  • Identify parts, consumables, tools required
  • Identify test and inspection requirements
  • Quality Control Inspection (Spot Checks)
  • Draft electronic Work Authorization Form (eWAF)
  • Report Operational Readiness to LCSRON and MPSF
  • Risk Assessments / identify mitigation courses of action
  • Engage with Navy representatives, government program offices, Fleet Sailors, and shipyard / other contractors.
  • Data collection for trend analysis and to support causative research

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of related experience; Master’s Degree with 0 year related experience. An additional 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Proven experience planning and executing preventative and corrective maintenance availability activities on U.S. Navy ships
  • MOFM/AWN Job Development and Management (or equivalent USN maintenance system)
  • Ability to conduct and report on technical review of work packages
  • Candidate will be required to perform physically demanding work, to include working in tight, restricted access quarters onboard a US Navy warship and other spaces, climbing 20 ft ladders and standing for long periods of time on a Navy ship or pier, lifting 50 lbs or more.
  • At minimum, required to have an active Interim Secret Clearance and must have the ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Port Engineer supporting US Navy warships
  • Experience on the LCS Class highly desired
  • Experience in Navy maintenance to include Ship’s Maintenance and Material Management (3M), Preventive Maintenance, and Corrective Maintenance specifically SKED 3.2 and MFOM AWN respectively

Salary Range: $68,500.00 - $102,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
