About Pixxel

Pixxel is a space data company building a health monitor for our planet. We are deploying a constellation of some of the world’s most advanced earth imaging satellites in lower earth orbit and an analytics platform (on the ground) with tools that enable easy application of this data across many sectors. Our fully deployed hyperspectral imaging constellation will be capable of beaming down high-quality imagery of every place on Earth daily.


About the Role

As a UI/UX Designer at Pixxel, you will play a pivotal role in crafting user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for our geospatial data analysis platform. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, create intuitive workflows, and design delightful user interfaces. Your work will have a direct impact on enhancing the usability and functionality of our platform, helping users unlock the power of geospatial data analytics.


Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Application Design: Take charge of the entire application design process, from concept to execution, ensuring that user experiences are exceptional and customer-centric.
  • Global Design Guidelines: Collaborate on the development of scalable design guidelines that transcend borders, ensuring a clean and consistent user interface across products as the company expands.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Utilize your skills to rapidly visualize, prototype, and explore multiple design directions, validating hypotheses and understanding the business and technical implications of your decisions.
  • UX Best Practices: Apply your deep understanding of UX best practices to drive innovation in your designs, creating solutions that are both user-friendly and technically sound.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Content, and Marketing teams to deliver a seamless and unified user experience across all communication channels.
  • Design Culture: Contribute to the growth and development of design best practices and foster a culture of design excellence not only within your team but across the entire organization.
  • User Understanding: Develop a profound understanding of our users by employing various techniques such as customer interviews, surveys, and usability tests to inform design decisions.


Requirements

  • UX Design Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing your track record of shipping world-class product designs in Figma, Sketch, or similar tools, with a focus on delivering simple and intuitive solutions to complex problems.
  • UX Design Innovation: A demonstrated ability to craft, innovate, and scale strong UX designs, pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
  • Visual Design Skills: Proficiency in visual design, creating pixel-perfect, high-fidelity designs that captivate users.
  • Design Systems: Experience working with and contributing to Design Systems, promoting consistency and efficiency in design processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with peers and stakeholders.
  • Technical Understanding: Deep understanding of technical limitations and front-end development techniques, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Analytical Interfaces: Experience with designing analytical interfaces is highly desirable, demonstrating an understanding of the complexities of data-driven design.
