Full Stack Engineer

Cognitive Space uses the power of AI to help organizations forecast, optimize, and orchestrate their satellite constellations.   

What You’ll Be Doing 

You are well-versed in Python and JavaScript and interested in building intelligent space systems to modernize satellite operations. You will be part of our product team developing APIs and UIs for web-based tools that manage satellite operations. You have professional experience with Python, Django and JavaScript. 

Learning Opportunities 

• Explore, visualize, and process aerospace data. 

• Collaborate with aerospace domain experts, and software developers to understand customer needs, and produce excellent products.

• Collaborate with the product development team 

• Build and grow with the user experience you create  

• Be the product experience Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Cognitive Space team  

What You Will Need 

• 2-4+ years of proven professional experience in Python. 

• 1-4+ years of proven professional experience in JavaScript, specifically in Vue or React. 

• Proficiency building APIs. 

• Proficiency in writing tests via Pytest and familiarity with Vitest. 

• Experience with geographic data is a plus. 

• Proficiency with Linux development environment. 

• Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical people. 

• Ability to work in a team and work collaboratively on complex tasks. 

• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to learn and develop products for a highly technical field. 

• U.S. Citizenship

Bonus Skills 

• An understanding of geospatial data/information 

• An understanding of satellite operations 

• Experience with 3D mapping tools (Cesium, Mapbox, etc.)
