Company details
Do you want to launch your career in space? Join us! Whether it's working with satellites, developing docking systems, or building science instruments, you will have the opportunity to do meaningful work in challenging space projects. Function
As AIV Manager, you will be the overall responsible for the Assembly, Integration and Verification (AIV) of a satellite and finally deliver the satellite ready for launch.
You start from reviewing all AIV-related requirements and to ensure that there is a sound AIV approach/plan. Further in the project, you will manage the assembly, integration, and verification approach and making sure that all related activities are properly executed in line with the project planning. This does not only cover the management of typical environmental testing like Vibration & Shock, Thermal vacuum; EMC etc. but also the satellite functional and electrical testing , from unit level up to full satellite testing.
You have a close interaction with the project managers/technical leads and the functional test leader and related team.
At Qualification Acceptance Reviews (QAR) or Final Acceptance Review (FAR), you will present a consistent Verification Control Document (VCD) to the customer to ensure that all higher level requirements have been properly covered and successful close-out/acceptance has been reached.
Key tasks/responsibilities:
• Setup the AIV planning, in accordance to the project schedule.
• Set up and maintain a day-to-day planning, which is the basis for a sound AIV management.
• Manage Environmental Verification/testing (like Vibration & Shock, Thermal vacuum test), but also electrical testing (like EMC test) and functional/operations testing (from unit level up to full satellite level and ground station interaction).
• Setup regular meetings with the AIV team to keep track of the progress, discuss the day-to-day planning and make sure that everybody is aware of his/her tasks for the coming period.
• Report to the Project Manager/Technical lead about the progress and propose workarounds to avoid/minimize impact to the overall project planning.
• Maintain a sound helicopter view of all activities.
• Interact properly with all disciplines/roles on a day-to-day basis.
• Work in a structured manner, thoroughly and with a clear focus to reach the objectives in a cooperative spirit and within schedule.
• Responsible for alignment of usage of shared resources to support testing.
• Non-Conformance follow-up with Product Assurance to understand reported issues and assess impact on ongoing/planned tests.
• Follow-up of satellite software deliveries in support of the test.
• Coordination of all relevant test documentation (test procedure/report/analysis).
Profile
• Master degree in engineering.
• AIV experience in a space project (preferably satellites) is an absolute must.
• Fluency in English.
• Highly motivated and passionate about space systems. Pro-active, creative, enthusiastic and result-oriented team player with a broad view.
