Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Staff Cyber Systems Engineer to support the Systems Engineering organization in San Diego, CA.
Essential Functions:
The selected candidate will support Development and Sustainment programs and will identify cybersecurity risks and design, develop, integrate, test, and verify system security solutions. The candidate will be responsible for identifying cybersecurity risks, working with stakeholders to develop a technical and programmatic plan for remediation, and driving the incorporation of cybersecurity improvements into the weapon system.
The candidate will leverage leadership skills to engage their customer counterpart as well as other stakeholders to drive improvements into the weapon system’s cybersecurity posture. The ideal candidate is not only an experienced technical leader with exceptional skills in communication and stakeholder engagement, but they are also a highly motivated self-starter.
This role is located on-site in Rancho Bernardo, CA and will require up to 25% travel in support of program needs.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field and at least 14 years of related experience, 12 years with a Master’s in STEM field, or 9 years with PhD in STEM field
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- Experience in at least one of the following:
- Managing cybersecurity vulnerabilities and working with stakeholders to prioritize and address findings
- Developing processes and standards to ensure the development of secure products
- Assessing systems for cybersecurity vulnerabilities
- Implementing cybersecurity scanning and assessment tools like ACAS or Nessus
- Developing cybersecurity compliance packages

- Current Program Access
- Experience getting and maintaining an ATO
