Within the CSG, the Human Exploration and Space Flight (HESF) Division supports our NASA customer in all aspects of human space flight and program office activities. This position will support NASA human space flight initiatives across Johnson Space Center, in Houston, TX, and the Kennedy Space Center in Florida in the field of data accumulation and analysis.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island FL, offering a hybrid work model that combines 1 regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow. 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support cloud environment planning and implementation with the Program Office and stakeholder organizations 
  • Oversees development and maintenance of custom applications and business tools 
  • Advises Program Office on SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence, and data matters 
  • Serve as a technical and programmatic development expert for multiple NASA programs  
  • Supports documentation development and facilitates customer engagement on needs and requirements 
  • Interfacing with internal and external customers to understand their data analytics needs 
  • Translating data requirements into systems architectures and strategies to be able to meet those requirements 
  • Functioning as a liaison between data sources/providers, data users, data analysts, and program management 
  • Assisting with implementing data analyses, data products, and metrics for program management and system offices 
  • Effectively and respectfully communicating with managers and stakeholders across different disciplines and multiple contracts regarding data sets and reporting needs 

What You Need to be Successful - Configuration Management Specialist III

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline
  • At least 6 years of experience with data analysis, SharePoint, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Superior ability to perform routine and ad hoc data analysis requests and administrative actions
  • In-depth experience with technical editing, formatting, and other document management functions in Microsoft Excel
  • Independent and self-motivated; proactive ability to learn on the job and utilize resources to carry out assignments
  • Ability to identify and communicate concerns to leadership in a diplomatic manner
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment, where the team is distributed across multiple NASA Organizations, Projects, and Programs
  • The ability to present and train customer technical staff and program support on data tools
  • Willing to travel to KSC or JSC approx. [25%]
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • An advanced degree from an accredited program in an appropriate technical discipline
  • More than 6 years of experience with data analysis, SharePoint, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Recent experience with NASA programs
  • Experience with the Commercial Crew Program
  • Familiarity with product markings for proprietary data, export control, procurement, etc.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and virtual environment
