We are looking to add a Senior Program Manager to our team. If you enjoy working in a startup environment and managing multiple fast paced projects at once, we would like to hear from you. 

As a Spacecraft Program Manager, you will directly support the Product Line by leading a talented team through an aggressive schedule to achieve program objectives, including frequent customer interface.
 
In this position you will manage day-to-day operations of the project including finance, staffing, and procurement in pursuit of contract objectives. You will monitor and manage program performance, risk, cost, and schedule; quality review and submission of all deliverables; and preparation of contract modification proposals (technical and cost).
 
The ideal candidate will possess superior analytical and problem-solving skills, operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, be a strong team player, and can establish solid working relationships with technical staff members and peers within the company.
 
The Spacecraft Program Manager should be able to articulate the technical challenges to executive leadership and works closely with the engineering team to identify and understand technical risk and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken to mitigate the risks. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute all facets of program management (i.e., cost, schedule, reporting, engagement etc.)
  • Ensure program is properly staffed to execute scope of work on time and within budget.
  • Establish and maintain program business rhythm.
  • Work closely with subcontracts to ensure on-time delivery from the subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Oversee development, manufacturing, assembly, integration, and test of the spacecraft and uses key metrics to ensure the program is on track to promised delivery date.
  • Success is highly dependent upon the level and proficiency of communication and writing skills. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience executing PM activities (e.g., cost, schedule, Customer engagement etc., including fixed price contracts)
  • Experience in communication payload hardware/software design and fabrication
  • Experience in space product design, development, and test.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication with ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Adaptability to new challenges with a strong motivation to grow and learn in new areas.
  • The successful candidate should be a creative problem solver and demonstrate a broad ranging technical management and team development experience encompassing:
  • Risk analysis and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Experience in vehicle/platform system integration and/or test and evaluation is a plus.
  • Experience translating functional requirements into tasks.
  • Experience in managing spacecraft programs (R&D, prototype, low volume production).
