Duties

  • Supervises employees responsible for providing support in workforce management, information technology, contract oversight, travel, training, safety, correspondence control, and office space management.
  • Champions crosscutting corporate enterprise business strategies and tactics to achieve short- and long-term goals to support the agency's missions and programs.
  • Identifies key areas of mutual interest that foster collaboration between the Science Mission Directorate (SMD), other NASA Headquarters organizations and Field Centers, and the broader scientific community.
  • Serves as a key interface between NASA and SMD leadership and senior leaders in the aerospace industry to enable partnerships that further SMD's goals and objectives.
  • Performs a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

GS-15: To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
  • Managing a team providing recommendations and solutions to senior leadership on strategy, workforce, information technology and office policy and operations;
  • Managing multiple high visibility initiatives at the request of senior leadership and in close coordination and collaboration with internal/external stakeholders;
  • Collaborating across departmental lines with various business administration units (i.e., human resources, IT, finance, facility operations, logistics, etc.) on crosscutting enterprise actions and functions.
