Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Configuration Manager who will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a plan for configuration management and data management across our program. This position requires a broad range of skills and the ability to coordinate with team members for applying knowledge of processes per customer contract requirements. This position will assist in the development of enterprise solutions that align with best practices to support mission critical objectives.

Typical Minimum Education / Experience for Configuration Manager: Five (5) years of relevant experience with Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics (STEM); three (3) years with Masters Degree; no experience required with PhD.  NOTE: Four (4) years of additional relevant experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.

To be considered you’ll need:  

• US Citizenship is required with an active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance which was active in the last 24 months

• Must possess DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher prior to start date

• Experience maintaining the folder structure of large data repositories

• Experience creating Software and Hardware Configuration Management plans, data migration documentation, and maintaining version control artifacts

• Experience with MS Office Suite, MS Visio, and sustaining engineering diagrams

• Experience reading schematics, populating multiple databases, and utilizing software such as MS Visio to document projects

• Experience with baseline documentation and policy management to ensure compliance

• Experience with change control of artifacts and holding periodic audits for verification

• Experience reviewing equipment room facilities which include hardware and software devices, computers, and networks

• Experience implementing processes to solve problems for improving overall system effectiveness

• Experience following labeling standards and collecting, tracking, and updating all configuration changes and inventory information in an Excel spreadsheet, etc.

• Must be a self-starter who is detail-oriented and has thorough organizational skills

• Must possess strong analytical skills and ability to adapt to a flexible Agile environment

• Must possess strong communication and collaboration skills to interface with internal team and external Government customers

You will be a great fit if you have:

• Experience with delivering Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documents to the customer

• Experience in automating engineering tasks utilizing scripting and/or orchestration tools. Specifically, proficiency in one or more of the following languages is preferred: PowerShell, Python, Bash, or YAML (executed/managed via Ansible).

• Experience with version control and change management tools such as Atlassian Tool Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Azure DevOps Server (ADS), Git, BitBucket, IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC), and/or IBM Rational ClearCase, Synergy, Jenkins, Artifactory)

• Experience with software and networking version control including Cisco Router configurations, Firewall security policies, VPN Configurations, Linux service configurations, Active Directory security groups, GPO Policies, STIG security requirements, VCenter permissions

• Experience overseeing the management of binaries and artifacts using Nexus Sonatype

• Experience understanding space, power, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) requirements, and hardware specifications in equipment rooms

What to expect:

• During the first 30 days of employment onboarding activities to include Northrop Grumman training requirements, program overviews, system architecture familiarization, and department-specific training will establish a solid foundation for the new team member. Introductions to management and team leads will provide insight into the team dynamics while identifying key areas where the engineer can provide value to the mission.

• Day 30 through 90 will consist of further integrating the engineer into daily activities with a team lead to guide them. Tasks will be assigned in accordance with the appropriate pace needed to ensure process and system architecture assimilation.

• Day 90 and onward will consist of mission-guided projects and opportunities for the engineer to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment. From leading day-to-day activities, to testing cutting-edge feature enhancements to the enterprise architecture, the engineer will have the ability to invest in their future while delivering maximum value to our customer’s mission.

This position may provide the employee the flexibility of working a traditional 40-hour week or work a 9/80 schedule. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day to take every other Friday off.

This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $101,900.00 - $152,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
