We are looking for a Lead Welder with expertise in welding to oversee our launch vehicle welding operations. The Lead Welder will be responsible for leading a team of welders, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety are maintained throughout the welding process.

Travel between sites may be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and mentor a team of welders, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement
Strategize and coordinate welding activities to meet production schedules and project milestones
Perform TIG welding of aerospace components with precision and accuracy, adhering to engineering specifications
Conduct regular inspections of welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize welding processes and resolve technical issues
Champion a safety-first mindset by enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

6+ years of experience with TIG welding including prior experience in the aerospace industry
High school diploma or equivalent qualification
Experience in blueprint reading and understanding of engineering specifications
Experience with high-quality welds on various materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, and Inconel

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience with MIG welding
Welding certifications (e.g., AWS) are desirable but not required
Leadership prowess, with previous experience in a supervisory or lead role preferred
A deep understanding of welding principles, materials, and equipment, coupled with a keen eye for detail
Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

This is the lowest to highest compensation range we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the compensation range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
