About the Team: 

The Stennis IT Operations Team is a dynamic and dedicated group responsible for the management, support, and enhancement of the IT infrastructure, IT service delivery, and end-user IT experience for our rocket engine testing complex at The Stennis Space Center.  This team, a subset within the broader company IT Operations team, ensures the reliable operation and performance of our IT infrastructure and solutions for the site and beyond. They play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing IT and network integrations essential for rocket engine testing, associated business functions, and cybersecurity resilience.  The team is committed to delivering exceptional business IT solutions and excels in end-user IT and computer assistance. Overall, the Stennis IT Operations team is essential to maintaining critical aspects of the technological core for our rocket engine testing facilities.

About the Role: 

  • Actively participate in the team’s daily tasking and support requirements. Answer tickets addressing desktop, user experience, and system issues in a timely and professional manner.  Escalate and track issues through incident/problem lifecycle.
  • Install and maintain user endpoint devices, and support infrastructure managed by other IT teams. Train users on complex system and computer functions.
  • Join a team that is focused on ambitious, superb delivery of IT engineered solutions to a technologically advanced userbase spanning many technical disciplines.
  • Deliver and document solutions that reduce Service Desk requests and repetitive service workloads.
  • Leverage your desktop operating system wisdom to resolve issues and improve the end user experience, identifying and suggesting improvements to standard practices wherever you can.
  • Find new ways to utilize our resources and assets to their fullest capacity.

About You:  

  • You have a strong drive to provide excellent customer service and experience, with an awareness of prioritization of tasks, stakeholders, and time.
  • You possess 2+ years of experience in Enterprise environment, 2+ years computer HW & SW troubleshooting & repair, and 2+ years in a Help Desk/Service Support environment. You also have working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners.
  • You possess resourcefulness, attention to detail, quick-thinking nature to troubleshoot new and critical technical issues as they arise, and the ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions.
  • You can image, configure, deploy, and support operating systems on desktop and mobile devices.
  • You have basic experience in networking, wiring, and basic knowledge and awareness of routing, subnets, and VLANs.
  • You have writing and editing skills to aid in writing and updating procedural documents and documenting tickets.
  • You can lift 20+ lbs, climb ladders, stand for 2+ hours, crouch & maneuver in tight spaces, and are available for flexible hours, shift schedules, and overtime as needed.

Nice to haves but not required:  

  • Advanced knowledge of Mac, Linux deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with M365, productivity tools, and endpoint management tools such as Entra, Exchange, M365 management, Intune (or other MDMs), Imaging, Jira, EDR.
  • Experience in managing Windows Active Directory and user access controls.
