We’re on the hunt for a Human Resources Intern on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

 

Who are we looking for ?

We are looking for driven, energetic and creative people who are currently enrolled in a University undergraduate degree in Human Resources.

This position is designed to provide you with real work experience and an opportunity to help you get to know us better.

Here are the main tasks that will be entrusted to you:

Responsibilities :

  • Assist with HR programs and maintain human resources information and related records
  • Ensure personnel files are consistent and compliant
  • Work collaboratively with HR teams to support business needs on various HR matters.
  • Provide labor relations administrative support in a unionized environment.
  • Assist with HR paperwork that links to payroll ie: leave of absence, mat leave, etc.
  • Prepare employee letters, as needed
  • Assist with orientation of new staff
  • Research health and safety practices and suggest improvements or modifications to existing policies
  • Assist in planning activities within the human resources department in conjunction with HR staff
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Create documents, spreadsheets, and tracking devices as required
  • Administer HRIS system and record-keeping
  • Organize and conduct employee information meetings
  • Ensure compliance with legislation
  • Other HR-related duties as assigned.

      Required skills :

      • Strong internal motivation, and willingness to learn
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams
      • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel is a must.
      • Automation skills is a plus.
      • Ability to work with cross -functional teams and build relationships
      • Able to prioritize and work well independently
      • Strong time management
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Strong Excel skills
      • Bilingual

      Qualifications :

      • Working towards a bachelor’s degree or diploma in the field of Human Resources 
      • Previous work experience in a unionized environment
      • Working experience in administrative tasks is a plus

      Desired Characteristics :

      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and integrity.
      • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
      • Experience with human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications would be considered an asset.

      Comments/Special Considerations :

      Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
