Telespazio - System Engineer

Job Description:

In the frame of developing Earth Observation Programs for major national and international Space Agencies, we are looking for a System Engineer that is responsible for designing the new generation of earth observation user ground segment. Starting from input requirements he/she will define the system decomposition proposing requirement allocation to subsystem and user story as Agile methodology must be applied. He/she will design state of the art user ground segment system considering reuse/upgrading of existing components or new development with special focus on scalability and elasticity.

He/She will oversee the whole engineering lifecycle starting from the system requirements and architecture definition to the validation and acceptance with the customers. He/She will also be part of the integrated team for the execution of the integration, verification, and validation test campaigns. In design phase he/she must consider technological evolution adopting the latest state of the art paradigms. He/She will also perform analysis and experimentation of new technologies to be adopted in the Solution Design.

Qualifications / Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Physics

Essential Skills

• Experience in System Design and analysis
• Requirement management and trade off
• System design methodologies including the use of UML/SysML based tools for supporting/documenting the design, at least at the architectural level;
• Knowledge of Cloud-based infrastructure and applications, microservices architectures, networking
• Good English knowledge

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes, and system and software life-cycles and standards
• Knowledge of software development lifecycles and change control processes
• Basic knowledge of ICT security elements
