Spire’s Weather & Climate team is seeking a hungry, self-directed Business Development Representative who is looking to accelerate their sales career and motivated to identify and cultivate new opportunities, provide customer value and advance the digitization of the global weather ecosystem. Critical to the success of our business, the BDR is a key team member who will help drive the growth and shape the future of the Weather/EI industry by increasing the adoption of data across multiple North American and European market segments and geographies. The BDR will lead outbound prospecting and inbound lead qualification, generating sales qualified leads (SQLs) and building a healthy sales pipeline. To succeed in this position, you need to have an interest in building a career in sales, and you should be excited by how data can reshape traditional industries. 

This role is based out of our Boulder, CO office and will require you to be in the office 3x per week. 

What You'll Do:

We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated Business Development Representative to join our team. This role is an excellent opportunity to advance your sales career by driving growth and innovation in the North American market. You will play a crucial role in expanding our client base and revolutionizing how businesses leverage Spire’s exclusive weather data. 

  • Develop a deep understanding of Spire’s products and services 
  • Maintain accurate lead and prospect records using CRM tools 
  • Generate leads and engage in outbound prospecting through cold calls, emails, social strategies, and internal trade show and expo purchasing tasks 
  • Initiate sales appointments and drive pipeline growth through inbound lead qualification and targeted outreach 
  • Communicate the benefits of Spire products and tailor solutions to meet client needs 
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to ensure smooth transitions of Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) 
  • Implement client retention strategies and analyze customer feedback to enhance loyalty and secure ongoing business  

Who You Are:

You are a self-motivated sales professional with experience in SaaS or other tech-product environments engaging with prospective customers to pitch, promote, and showcase your product/service offerings.  You thrive in fast-paced and deadline driven environments and LOVE to sell. You're curious and want to learn everything about the product/service you're promoting and are relentless in your pursuit of finding the deal. 

  • Proven experience in lead generation and outbound prospecting, with a strong track record of driving pipeline growth 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders  
  • Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales and product development 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing client needs 
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, persistence, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team  
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and the capacity to prioritize effectively  
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in data/software sales, with 1-2 years in a SaaS technology company being ideal

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Final base salary for this role will be based on the location, skills, experience and qualifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for commissions and annual equity awards. This role is also eligible for our employee benefits program, including vacation, sick, and personal time off; optional medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage; a 401(K) plan; health and wellness reimbursement program; and participation in Spire’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Base Salary Range
$65,000$80,000 USD
