SENIOR DIRECTOR OF SYSTEM INTEGRATION & TEST

A Senior Director of System Integration and Test is responsible for leading our system and integration team, the team that is responsible for delivering a fully functional and checked out vehicle and ground system to the launch site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system integration, test planning and execution, and team leadership. They will be responsible for developing and implementing integration and test strategies to ensure the quality of our products on-time. Setting the best practices for factory checkouts and preparing for launch.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement system integration and test strategies to guarantee seamless integration and thorough testing of our hardware, spanning launch vehicles and ground support equipment
  • Lead and manage the system integration and test team, providing strategic direction and mentorship to cultivate a highly proficient and cohesive team
  • Forge strong collaborative relationships with design engineering and launch groups to ensure comprehensive testing coverage aligns with full system requirements, fostering a culture of cross-functional synergy and shared accountability for mission success
  • Establish industry-leading best practices for system integration and test, including the formulation of robust test plans and standardized troubleshooting protocols, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and reliability throughout the testing lifecycle
  • Provide executive communications on critical performance indicators pertaining to system integration and test activities, swiftly implementing corrective measures as necessary and proactively identifying areas for improvement. 
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Exercise significant influence over product designs from their conceptual stages, championing considerations for manufacturability, reliability, and functionality, thereby driving continuous improvement and innovation across the organization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Experience in system integration, test planning and execution
  • 8+ years of experience building, leading, and developing teams
  • 15+ years of experience on complex system integration and tests

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use a computer to complete assignments
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment
This is the lowest to highest compensation range we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the compensation range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
