Job description

Turion's mission is to build a sustainable future in space. We design, build, and operate spacecraft which track, characterize, image and remove space debris. As a Thermal Engineering Intern, you will help perofrm thermal analysis and design of our spacecraft and subsystems.. You will be part of the mechanical engineering team and work on the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design, analysis, fabrication, and testing of our vehicles and mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

Perform thermal analysis at varying degrees of fidelity at the spacecraft-level, subsystem-level, or component-level
Support design trades that balances performance, margin, resources, budget, and schedule
Perform thermal testing (ambient or vacuum) to ensure thermal control performance at component-level or spacecraft-level.
Work with team members to define load conditions and requirements for specific assemblies and components
Generate test plans, and coordinate component/assembly testing and documentation to ensure components function as designed
Identify opportunities to increase thermal and power efficiency and reduce mass and cost

Minimum Qualifications

Interest in thermal engineering and how heat flows through spacecraft
Completed at least an undergraduate heat transfer course
Comfort working in a fast-paced, self-driven entrepreneurial workplace
Enrolled in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering undergraduate or graduate program
