Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The qualified applicant will have a working knowledge and understanding of Industrial Engineering, capacity, and methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. The candidate must have knowledge and experience with proposals, master production scheduling, and material requirements planning. The qualified applicant may:
Utilize fundamentals in Industrial Engineering
Estimate capacity based on efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc.
Interact with manufacturing flows for shop floor and Global Supply Chain
Understand schedule including waterfall build with setbacks to independent demands
Be responsible for factory and facility layout
Utilize cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments)
Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements
Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution to present (PowerPoint, speaking in front of upper management, technical presentations vs overviews)
Visualize and layout routings (Flow chart, Excel, etc)

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Science with 9 years of experience, Master's degree with 7 years of experience, or PhD with 4 years of experience.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) within a reasonable period as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Experience with manufacturing, scheduling, and capacity analysis.
Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with Systems Test and integration a plus.
Possess strong organizational, planning and decision-making skills and the ability to work as a team member and with other members from different technical backgrounds.
Experience with cost management (Earned Value, Milestone payments).
Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals.
Be proficient in the principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc).
Have a knowledge of manufacturing flows and how they interface with shop floor and Global Supply Chain.
Understanding of schedule waterfall build with setbacks to independent demands.
Experience with labor standard development and work measurement.
