Job Summary

Aerospace is seeking an EHS Staff II/III to manage and implement the Emergency Management and Fire Life Safety programs such as emergency planning, fire protection, life safety, fire systems inspections and maintenance, and others as assigned by the EHS Director. The candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and implementing the Enterprise Emergency Management and Fire Life Safety programs. This position will also lend support for the related activities of the Enterprise Occupational Health and Safety Program.

Work Model

This position will be located 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manages, implements, and maintains the Fire Life Safety and Emergency Management programs enterprise wide
  • Develops, and implements policies, processes, and procedures; recommends modifications to operating policies and procedures
  • Analyzes, interprets, and monitors environmental, health and safety regulations; ensures company procedures are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; provides regulatory interpretation and sets standards to measure performance
  • Investigates and resolve fire life safety and EHS issues, questions, or concerns received from within the company, among outside customers, and regulatory agencies
  • Directs, coordinates, and responds to safety and health related issues and emergency response activities including chemical spills, blood clean ups, alarms, odors, indoor air quality concerns, and medical emergencies; reviews, investigates, and recommends corrective action and controls on safety and health related issues
  • Conducts safety audits and inspections; performs process review and hazard analyses, program monitoring, and provides effective training and communication
  • Investigates injuries/incidents to determine root cause and develop corrective actions and track to completion

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for EHS Staff II:

  • 3 or more years of relevant EHS experience with bachelor’s degree, 1 or more years of relevant experience with master’s degree
  • Experience with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI Standards
  • Strong technical background with safety program management and compliance
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
  • May require entry into potentially hazardous environments for evaluation and/or monitoring
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Intermittent traveling
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • May require entry into potentially hazardous environments for evaluation and/or monitoring
