About the Role

As an Engineering Technician V, you will be regarded as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and use your skills and expertise to perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. You'll be responsible for constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, and maintaining our equipment, components, devices, or systems in support of processing spacecraft, satellites, and other platforms for flight. You'll ensure our systems and components meet established specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience

  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience

  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications

  • Advanced experience in a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment

  • Thorough understanding and experience with the practical application of manufacturing principles

  • Progressive experience with electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies

  • Advanced skills in assembly, soldering, and connectors

  • OSHA 10-Hour Training certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace sector experience is preferred, but experience in other fields including, but not limited to: oil & natural gas, construction, automotive and military equipment keep 

  • Experience certifying equipment for operation is preferred

  • IPC certificate (with Space Addendum)

  • Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL

  • Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation

  • Understanding of the use of standard laboratory test equipment, spectrum analyzers, network 

  • analyzers, oscilloscope, and pitot static equipment

  • Understanding of soldering techniques

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with 3-D CAD software

  • Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor, train, guide and inspect the work of 

  • subordinates

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, NASA, the US Department of Defense or US 

  • Military

  • Experience working at Kennedy Space Center or other NASA centers

  • Active security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps

  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity

  • Rarely lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.



Working Conditions:

  • Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)

  • Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials

  • Rarely exposed to loud noises

$25.50 - $40.32
