The Microelectronics Center of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Help Desk Developer for the Engineering and Sciences Organization. The position is located at the Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) in Linthicum, MD where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal production and emerging programs. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in assigning permissions, troubleshooting, providing workaround, code changes, and database entry, insertion, and filter checking. Experience supporting users in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.

We are looking for you to join our team as a Help Desk Developer based out of Linthicum, MD.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Support foundry employees with issues, providing permissions or licenses.

  • Develop and update Help Desk documentation on current and past issues.

  • Aptitude to learn and retain the basic functions of applications.

  • Ability to understand and retain? manufacturing best practices regarding software, priorities, and impact.

  • Hold meetings and follow up with foundry employees regarding their tickets.

  • Actively comment ticket with all communications regarding the issue(s) for the requestor and fellow employees impacted by the issue.

  • Grant user permissions based on the requestor’s role and job duties.

  • Find workarounds to prevent wafer delivery delays.

  • Report enhancements for reoccurring issues.

  • Including but not limited to permissions review, troubleshooting, code changes, database entry, insertion, filter checking, and PR.

  • Directly fixing the issue, contacting the POC on behalf of the reporter, and directing the reporter to correct submission portal.

  • Perform root cause analysis to pinpoint where an issue could be in the code.

  • Gather functional details from requestors and communicate the technical details to the product owners.

  • Collaborate with agile teams, assess impact, triage issues based on priority.

  • Merge and release code in GitHub

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant professional work experience OR Master's degree and minimum 0 year of relevant professional work experience.

  • Communication skills to talk to foundry employees to convey technical and functional requests to the agile teams.

  • Critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and provide workarounds.

  • Technical writing to document the resolution process.

  • Working knowledge of at least one application in each category:

    • Database: Oracle, MySQL

    • Desktop: C#, VBA

    • Web: Node.js, React

    • Cloud: AWS [general understanding]

  • Ability to read and right SQL queries.

  • 2+ years of database experience and writing clean, technically sound, and scalable code.

  • Working knowledge of GitHub.

  • Working knowledge of Confluence and Jira or similar applications.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High level understanding of AWS

  • A current/active DoD Secret Clearance

  • 1-2 years of Manufacturing experience

  • 1-2 years of MES experience

  • Familiarity with Jenkins

  • Familiarity with API

  • Familiarity with Tableau

Salary Range: $83,300.00 - $124,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
