As we build our business and our capabilities, we are also building a reputation as a great place to work. Help us define what is possible for our nation, and for your career.

This is an exciting time to join our expanding team spearheading the design, supply, installation and commissioning of our cutting-edge Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) facility, strategically located near the picturesque town of Exmouth, Western Australia

DARC is a global network of three next-generation ground sensors, based in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Together, they will deliver a unique 24/7 all-weather capability, tracking objects in geosynchronous orbit - a testament to Northrop Grumman’s commitment to enhancing security and safety in deep space on a global scale.

Your Role
As a Hardware Field Technician, you play a critical role in supporting our engineering teams by managing diverse technical tasks. Your responsibilities include gathering, maintaining, formatting, and manipulating technical data, as well as creating detailed engineering documentation, reports, and schematic drawings like flow charts and block diagrams. You'll conduct precise mathematical calculations and preliminary data analyses to support engineering evaluations. Utilising personal computers for analyses and report generation will be a daily activity. Additionally, you may be involved in conducting tests and documenting data to enhance engineering analysis.

Your expertise in engineering principles, physical hardware assembly, and complex mechanical/electrical systems is crucial, especially in the integration and commissioning of the Deep Space Advanced Radar (DARC) capability. Ensuring meticulous adherence to hardware assembly and checkout schedules, you'll drive quality outcomes and maintain compliance with the DARC Program's safety performance requirements.

About You
You are a skilled technician with extensive experience in hardware integration, ideally holding mechanical and/or electrical trade qualifications, with a Bachelor of Engineering being highly desirable. Your background may include constructing and commissioning communication infrastructure, adding significant value to your profile. Having experience in SATCOM ground station or large RADAR system installation and maintenance will make you a standout candidate.

You have a firm grasp of basic engineering concepts and are proficient in executing physical hardware assembly tasks. Your experience includes assembling and operating mechanical/electrical systems. The role demands innovative thinking and effective problem-solving skills, as you will be working as part of a small team with limited on-site support.

By joining Northrop Grumman, you are not just taking a job; you are becoming part of a landmark project that is defining new frontiers in aerospace, committed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical excellence.

This exciting opportunity will require relocation to Exmouth, Western Australia and come with comprehensive relocation assistance and attractive remote working allowances to support your transition.
