Our mission is to turn data into insight. As a member of the Operations team you will work as part of a team to develop new capabilities, enhance existing capabilities and deliver solutions to our customers.

As part of your growth and development we will work with you to establish your development actions alongside regular progress reviews. You are likely to move through various projects to gain the experience and knowledge to progress your career with us.

 

Details:

We’re on the hunt for a talented Operations Analyst Co-op Student to join the Operations team at our Richmond B.C. location starting in September 2024.  This is an 8 month term with possibility of extension. Operations is a cross department function and is responsible for managing the operations of the business to help ensure the efficient execution of the business along with various strategic functions. To assist with this function, the successful candidate will support the preparation of various analysis and coordination activities to support the decision making of the senior leadership team.

Overall the successful candidate would be treated similar to a new graduate joining our company, where tasks will be assigned relative to the level of schooling and experience achieved to date.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing timely reports to track and monitor financial status, various analysis, or tracking metricsand KPI’s.
  • The preparation and development of Operations tracking reports based on financial, business performance, workforce, project, and other business process metrics as needed.
  • Coordinating activities within Operations and possibly with other departments.
  • Special projects dependent on current business needs.
  • Provide input on process changes or support the development of new processes.
  • Document workflows and processes as required.
  • Ad-hoc projects as required.

  

Qualifications:

  • MS Office products including primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge including SUMIF, COUNTIF, Vlookup functions, use of PIVOT tables and familiarity with preparing charts and graphs.
  • Good understanding and experience with Sharepoint/Confluence.
  • Initiative and Drive – ability to take on assignments defined by goals and outcomes and figure out how to achieve those goals and outcomes.
  • Team Work – ability to work as an integrated member of the team with a strong focus on the team success above individual success.
  • Accuracy – attention to detail and the ability to deliver quality work and take ownership of the responsible tasks.

  • Multi-Tasking – ability to juggle multiple assignments and tasks concurrently and prioritize appropriately.

  • Analysis – ability to synthesize and draw inferences and conclusions from diverse information.
  • Communication – ability to communicate in different forms (written, presentation, verbal) the results of research and analysis to other team members and to broader MDA staff.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience with Atlassian products like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Experience in software development or programming/scripting.
  • Experience in project management.

 

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).

The compensation range for this position is $20 - $23 hourly. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
