About the Role:

Maxar is seeking a highly motivated Sr Director on the US Government team in Orlando, FL who has proven success defining business opportunities, identifying, and developing new accounts while maintaining and servicing existing accounts.

Maxar is a prime contractor in the delivery of the U.S. Army One World Terrain program, which leverages the company’s Precision 3D technology.  Precision 3D provides exceptional, high-quality digital terrain and textures for a substantial portion of the globe. Modeling and Simulation (M&S) initiatives focus on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness

This business development leader will advance and execute the strategy and programs for delivering Maxar capabilities into the government’s visualization, modeling & simulation and synthetic training environment needs. Day to day responsibilities include leveraging market intelligence to drive and grow a long-term sales strategy for Government & Military applications from the 3D vis/sim portfolio. Your success will be founded on your business relations background enabling you to drive engagement at an executive level. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee existing Maxar vis/sim programs, own senior customer relationships, grow existing contracts, and ensure execution meets contractual obligations. Business development and capture for new vis/sim programs.

  • Develop a plan for staffing center of excellence for Maxar vis/sim efforts.

  • Drive delivery of sales strategy through excellent collaboration with cross functional departments and utilization of Reseller(s).

  • Active role in development, implementation, and maintenance of Salesforce.com (SFDC) reporting at the corporate level

  • Develop and maintain excellent business relationships with customers and ensure consistent follow-up and support to drive revenue.

  • Develop strong product knowledge of 3D Systems Application capabilities to present a broad and reasonably deep overview of our offerings.

  • Partner with Product Organization to bring user and market needs to Product roadmap while running and meeting delivery needs of programs.  Works to secure cross-organization buy-in on solutions that move from current practices toward agreement/acceptance of new concepts, practices, products and approaches.

  • Balance and flexibility to manage short cycle sale opportunities combined with long cycle business development customer opportunities.

  • Develops new prospects from personal research and company led lead generation activities targeting the markets mentioned above.

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, procedures , and regulations within the government and military markets.

  • Familiar with contract negotiation and execution. Comfortable working with legal oversight and engagement on customer agreements such as non-disclosure agreements, quality agreements, supply agreements and services consulting agreements.

  • Communicate and execute Sales Forecasts and Strategic Sales plans to management.

  • Identify current and future market requirements by on-going engagements with customers and non-customers and through competitive analysis, secondary research, and other sources (events, seminars).

  • Attend Key Shows/Expo’s & networking events to support ongoing creation of contacts and knowledge to support execution of sales strategy.

  • Identify, analyze, and pursue potential strategic partnership relationships for the products and solutions that achieve the business objectives for the 3D Systems in this segment.

 Requirements:

  • 15+ years’ experience developing customer relationship and growing business portfolios with the USG sector.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Business development/sales with proposal experience.

  • Vis/sim product and software development knowledge required.

  • USG/DoD experience (not just vis/sim commercial gaming).

  • A broad understanding of MS&T and C2 technology, current and emerging artificial intelligence methodologies, with focus on application to synthetic training related to MDO/JADC2 initiatives, including classified systems and customers.

  • Recent leadership experience in DoD customer facing organization(s) where the role directly influenced the direction of synthetic training environments and constructs.

  • Experience running a $50M portfolio.

  • Experience with USMC TECOM desired.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$155,000.00 - $259,000.00 annually.


 

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
