Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sentinel Staff Electrical Design Engineer. This position is in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Design Electrical systems in accordance with scope of work.
Evaluate vendor documents to ensure specifications and data sheet requirements are met.
Peer review documentation such as but not limited to schematics, diagrams, equipment data sheets, hazard area classification drawings, and electrical analysis or studies developed by other engineers and designers.
Review application of codes and standards for compliance and correct interpretation of Electrical designs.
Participate in the delivery of Electrical facility design Technical Data Packages, Issue-for-Construction (IFC) packages, as-built TDPs, PDPs, interface models, and additional design artifacts.
Ensures design product quality by reviewing Electrical designs and validating that current standards are applied.
Analyze trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues.
Develop and present design change requests, coordinate with impacted internal and external stakeholders, to ensure configuration control of the technical baseline.
Identify risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors.
Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements.
Create technical reports and present technical information.
Interface with and manage customer relationships.
Develop and mature Electrical facility designs that meet Weapon System requirements, UFC, MIL-STD, and other applicable codes and regulations.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Job Qualifications:
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 14 years of experience; or Master's degree with 12 years of experience; or PhD with 9 years of experience
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access.
Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project and/or Engineering Scheduling tools or applications.
Experience developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and/or networks.
Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and/or systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Minimum of 6 years of experience leading Electrical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.
Experience with electrical and power systems design, knowledge of communication cabling, controls systems and engine/generator sets.
Experience with ETAP Electrical Power and EasyPower System Analysis software
Experience in power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and/or relay coordination.
Knowledge of industry codes and standards, including the National Electric Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), International Building Code (IBC) and Unified Facilities Criteria.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Active DoD Secret clearance investigated within the last 6 years.
Experience working with external customer to meet program expectations in a timely and efficient manner.
Electrical Cable/Harness design experience in CAD/Revit
Experience using the following tools: ANSYS, MATLAB, or equivalents.
Electrical Design Experience with 3D CAD modeling using Siemens NX
Continuous Process Improvement experience
Experience with ICBM Weapon Systems
Experience with TeamCenter/CPLM
Experience with Nuclear Certified Designs
Experience with DOORS
Circuit Design, SPICE Modeling, Experience
Professional Engineering License
