Job description

a.i. solutions is seeking a highly motivated Senior Dynamic Environments Analyst to join the ELVIS contract supporting the NASA Launch Services Program (LSP) at the Kennedy Space Center. The Senior Dynamic Environments Analyst will provide expertise in the derivation, validation, and verification of dynamic environments for launch vehicles and payloads. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers.

 

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with launch vehicle providers in the area of dynamic environments
  • Provide day-to-day technical direction, coordination, and review for assigned missions
  • Offer engineering support for dynamic verification testing of launch vehicles and spacecraft, including acoustics, sinusoidal vibration, random vibration, shock, and modal testing
  • Address and resolve vehicle and payload environment-related technical problems offering expert advice and guidance
  • Interface with various LSP technical disciplines, conduct internal peer reviews, and present findings to LSP management via the engineering review board process
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations for design and mission status reviews
  • Represent LSP in presenting technical status of launch vehicle and spacecraft systems to senior NASA management, highlighting problem areas and feasible solutions
  • Assist mission managers in planning, developing, and updating interface control documents, resolving complex compatibility issues between different systems and organizations
  • Mentor junior engineers in conducting mission analysis, supporting studies, tests, analyses, and dynamic environments IV&V activities
  • Support launch preparations, launches, and subsequent flight operations as needed
  • Oversee the dynamic environments portion of post-flight reports at mission completion

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • 20+ years of experience in dynamic environments analysis and testing, preferably in aerospace applications
  • Proficiency in Python or equivalent programming languages (e.g., MATLAB)
  • Knowledge in statistics and digital signal processing/analysis
  • U.S. Citizenship and successful completion of a government background check

 

Desired Background:

  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), and similar tools
  • Strong analytical skills in developing random vibration, shock, and acoustic test criteria
  • Familiarity with spacecraft integration, ground support equipment, and launch vehicle systems
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle diverse projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate in-person and in writing, and actively listen and understand the needs, values, or opinions of others
  • Demonstrated leadership accomplishments professionally and personally
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing challenges, including innovations that result in positive organizational impact
