Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Subcontracts/Cost Estimating Specialist for our Roy, UT location. This position is in support of the Sentinel Program aka Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) contract.

The Principal Subcontracts/Cost Estimating Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of subcontracts for various construction projects. This role involves negotiating contract terms, monitoring subcontractor performance, and ensuring compliance with all contractual agreements. The ideal candidate will have experience in subcontracts administration or as an estimator in the construction industry, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage subcontracts for construction projects.
  • Review and analyze subcontractor bids and proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual terms and conditions.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and address any issues or disputes.
  • Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all subcontract activities.
  • Prepare and present reports on subcontractor performance and project status.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of subcontracting policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits of subcontractor compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the contracts team in analyzing cost data and preparing bids for new projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in subcontracts administration, procurement, supply chain, buyer, or cost estimating in industrial construction. Or in lieu of a degree, 10 years of experience in subcontracts administration, procurement, buyer, or cost estimating in industrial construction.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in contract management or related fields
  • Proficiency in contract management software
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera).
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, terms, and conditions.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to construction and contracting.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary Range: $76,600.00 - $115,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
