We're looking for a talented and experienced AI Governance Systems Engineer to join our dynamic Generative AI team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented AI Governance Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing AI governance frameworks and mechanisms to uphold ethical principles and regulatory compliance across our AI initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams to integrate governance controls into AI systems and processes, ensuring alignment with organizational values and legal requirements.

This position can be hired as a level 3 or level 4, depending upon the candidate's experience, and education. This position will allow for a fulltime, virtual telecommuter.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Solicit, define, analyze, and manage requirements for the governance of AI systems.

  • Develop and implement AI governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to guide the ethical design, development, and deployment of AI systems.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess risks and ethical considerations associated with AI projects and provide recommendations for mitigation.

  • Design and implement governance mechanisms to promote transparency, interpretability, and accountability in AI algorithms and decision-making processes.

  • Conduct audits and assessments of AI systems to evaluate compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide guidance and training to teams on best practices for AI governance, including data privacy, bias mitigation, and algorithmic fairness.

  • Stay abreast of emerging regulations and standards related to AI governance and recommend adjustments to policies and practices as needed.

  • Partner with legal, compliance, and ethics teams to address governance challenges and ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree  Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with AI technologies and methodologies, including machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting responsible AI practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in AI governance, compliance, or related fields.

  • Strong understanding of ethical principles, regulatory frameworks, and best practices related to AI governance.

  • Experience in designing and implementing governance frameworks for complex systems or technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a complex, technical environment.

Salary Range: $118,000.00 - $177,000.00Salary Range 2: $146,300.00 - $219,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
