About the Role

As a Pricing Analyst, you will be using your skills and expertise to review and summarize Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Quote (RFQ), and Statements of Work (SOW) requirements to ensure our submittals are compliant with government contracting regulations. You will be assisting with maintaining a schedule for current and upcoming proposal activity, ensuring timely delivery of proposals to our customers, developing Cost Volumes in accordance with both RFP and FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) conditions, and reviewing all internal pricing inputs. You'll uphold our rationale for and ensure adherence to approved labor categories and non-labor accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Will support multiple products, programs and contract types while ensuring that proposals follow Government, Customer, and Sierra Space internal proposal governance.

  • Be a significant proposal team contributor. This can include coordinating team meetings and reviews and offering solutions to problems.

  • Take proposal team estimates and serve as the lead for getting the estimates priced, typically using ProPricer and BOE Pro, with the proper rates and factors.

  • Lead cost volume preparation, coordinating data gathering for all other functions.

  • Review Basis of Estimates and prepare them for submission to the customer or management.

  • Validate the proposals meet customer RFP and internal and external compliance requirements.

  • Provide pricing and estimating perspective/input into bid kickoffs to guide proposal teams in preparing compliant proposals as efficiently as possible.

  • Preparation of financial data for proposal review packages.

  • Work with proposal team to negotiate proposals with customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field of study and typically three (3) or more years of relevant experience; higher level degree may substitute for experience

  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Microsoft Word and Excel skills

  • Experience interpreting data of a technical/programmatic nature

  • Understanding of utilizing research and analysis methods

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to motivate/work with others


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of FAR, FAR Supplements, CAS (Cost Accounting Standards) and Government pricing

  • Self-starter and a problem solver; must have the ability to see the big picture and implement changes as required

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with both internal and external teams at all levels, including senior leadership in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

Additional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps

  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity

  • Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors

  • Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.


Working Conditions:

  • Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)

  • Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials

  • Rarely exposed to loud noises

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$68,926.06 - $94,773.33
