Job Description:

We are on the hunt for a Communications Co-op Student to join our Communications Department at our Brampton office. This can be a 4, 8 or 12 month term starting in September 2024. Please indicate your availability in your application.

As a Communications co-op Student, you will have the opportunity to undertake a variety of exciting and diverse projects to help tell the story of MDA Space to our various stakeholders.

Your responsibilities may include and not limited to:

• Work with the Corporate Communications team to assist in the execution of communications strategies (internal and external) to support corporate activities (at times working with agencies)
• Copywriting for MDA Space owned media channels (Corporate intranet, MDA Space website, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and X)
• Media monitoring and developing media reports and analytics
• Assist with community outreach and partnerships
• Work with graphic artists to create compelling graphics and content for our channels
• Support the coordination and implementation of special projects, presentations, events, branding and other assignments as required
• Assist in promotional items for MDA Space online swag store

 

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Experience

• Ideal candidates are enrolled in Communications/PR/marketing/Journalism programs
• Strong written/verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a positive thinker
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple competing requests with great attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize what matters.

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
