Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join our team and report to the Manufacturing Manager. We require previous experience with SAP and can help lead our team with the transition from Costpoint. You will support the Manufacturing team while facilitating Engineering goals and supporting all organizational groups. We strongly prefer that you have experience in sourcing electronic components, PCB fabrication, working with PCB Contract Manufacturing and are comfortable using the SAP system and can communicate both verbally and in writing with our suppliers.

Responsibilities:

  • Create purchase orders per company procurement requests
  • Establish relationships and build rapport with our suppliers, working with them to ensure prompt delivery and best pricing
  • Integrate with the relevant internal product teams as the primary PCB procurement point of contact
  • Understand outside production requirements and ability to appropriately facilitate communication between production control, engineering and the supplier.
  • Process organization’s purchase requisitions, develop procurement solicitations, negotiate price and delivery, and issue purchase orders.
  • Provide quotation/pricing support to sales department.
  • Provide periodic status and expediting critical orders.
  • Process material orders and equipment requirements.
  • Process material requisitions, Purchase Orders, PO confirmations and change orders.
  • Update PO pricing and delivery dates.
  • Review material cost and purchase price variance status reports.
  • Meet deadlines for PO’s, quotes, submittals and delivery dates.
  • Review and approve pricing, terms, freight, etc.
  • Prepare all aspects of procurement solicitations, including terms and conditions, customer contract flow down requirements, scope of work, and other requirements to facilitate acquisition of raw materials, goods, and services
  • Review and negotiate quoted material packages.
  • Understand units of measure and determine how to buy per the appropriate unit of measure.
  • Review material package and subcontract review for the scope of work.
  • Maintain supplier certification records in SAP system.
  • Conduct vendor surveys and participate in on-site supplier audits.
  • Conduct pricing comparisons and create selection criteria for approved suppliers.
  • Review vendor performance to ensure company needs are being met.
  • Develop new relationships and maintain existing relationships with vendors.
  • Conduct warehouse stock checks to ensure accurate inventory of electronic components. Prepare kits to send to manufacturers to build printed circuit boards.
  • Support the control of externally provided processes, products, and services for AS9100
  • This position may require US Government Security Clearance in the future

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous buyer responsibilities with a minimum of 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • General knowledge of electronic components
  • SAP experience
  • The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, strong negotiation tactics and can form enduring working relationships with vendors and internal staff

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AS9100 quality experience

Pay Range:  $85,000 - $125,000

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
