About the Role

As Electronics Technical Lead and Senior Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to support the execution of the business unit strategy and provide technical leadership, guidance, and design influence for space-based electronics product development and delivery. This includes providing technical guidance throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to product release. You will drive the architecture, design, and development of product technical baselines that support multiple customers and applications, ensuring consistency, continuity, and configuration control. You will help shape product strategy and provide technical investment needs to Leadership. You will support proposal technical and cost volumes. You will also support program and technical reviews and provide guidance to staff on technical solution synthesis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 17 or more years of relevant experience.

  • Expert knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools.

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or similar technical specialty.

  • Thorough understanding of all phases of product design and program lifecycles to include requirements synthesis, design, manufacturing, integration, test, certification, and sustainment.

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of industry best practices and techniques for product development and rapid and iterative prototyping for commercial and government space applications.

  • Expert knowledge of electronics design for products aligning to power management functions, including power conversion, control, conditioning, and distribution, for space applications.

  • Expert understanding of the tradeoffs in product and system performance and reliability across different orbital applications.

  • Ability to influence product design, in coordination with Programs, to achieve design-to-cost (DTC) objectives.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions to ensure that design-for-X (DFX) principles are consistently applied to product development.

  • Demonstrated passion for ideation and innovation, as well as motivating others to act by creating a shared sense of vision or purpose.

  • Possess a strategic mindset, linking technology and business.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and understand technical and program interdependencies.


 

Additional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps

  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity

  • Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.



Working Conditions:

  • Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)

  • Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials

  • Rarely exposed to loud noises

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

This position requires current/active Top Secret with SCI eligibility and current full-scope polygraph U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.  The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$183,344.68 - $252,098.94
