AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea and in flight.

Summary:

We are looking for a talented Accountant to join our Finance team. The Accountant will be very hands-on, taking responsibility for supporting full cycle month-end closing and the preparation of internal and external financial reporting documents and related filings. The Accountant  will report to the Director, Financial Reporting and Accounting and work collaboratively with other functional areas and external advisors to provide guidance and leadership to ensure the adequacy and accuracy of financial information and disclosures. For success in this position, you'll need knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. In addition, you must have a passion for innovation and improvement in processes as well as great attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture.  

This position is a hybrid work structure where the employee will work remotely and from the office, as needed or based on demands of specific tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:​ 

  • Assist with the month end close process, G/L analysis, reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Support the Company’s monthly internal financial reporting process including the preparation of monthly reports and liaising with financial planning and analytics group 
  • Support the Company’s SEC reporting function including the preparation of required documents, including forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and S-3.
  • Assist in the coordination with external auditors on financial reporting requirements for quarterly reviews and annual audit
  • Work cross-functionally across the Company to gather financial information necessary for completion of month end reconciliations and journal entries, and internal and external financial reporting.
  • Assist in future SOX implementation and internal controls compliance efforts
  • Participate in system implementation and other special projects and other accounting and finance responsibilities as required
  • Be a great business partner; establish and maintain excellent relationships within the team, external auditors, and with leaders across the business

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder 
  • 0-2 years of Big 4 public accounting and/or public company experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong and extensive knowledge of SEC Reporting requirements and US GAAP
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers, senior leadership and all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Experience with SOX and internal controls related to financial reporting
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Innovative, problem-solver, and ability to independently work in a fast-paced, dynamic and high growth environment
