Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Staff Software Engineer – 12932. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Subsystems Support Contract.
The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for IOSSP operational software sustainment and validating/updating requirements due to Operational Software Change Requests (OSCRs). This position will lead the test team for System Integration Test of the ICBM operational software changes. Including: Console Operational Program, Operational Ground Program, and the Minuteman Operational Targeting Program. This person will join the program in the early phases of requirements development and should have experience necessary to successfully develop test plans procedures and training other SW engineers. This position is responsible for making sure SW development complies with IOSSP processes and governance for the program. This role requires mentorship and training of both junior and senior engineers.
What you will get to do, specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
- Interface with requirements and verifying design from requirements. Verify allocated requirements into detailed design.
- Write software test plans and procedures for use in ICBM Minuteman III system integration test.
- Verify the software deliverables per Contractual Data Requirement List (CDRL).
- Collaborates with subcontractors, Cyber Security and Quality Engineers to ensure software requirements are met.
- Performs software data reviews, software analysis, and continuous integration of IOSSP software baselines.
- Performs code review identifying defects and report back to the program management team.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications:
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- 14 Years with Bachelors in relevant field of study; 12 Years with Masters; 09 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
- Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
- U.S. Citizen and Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Previous practical experience bridging requirements into software design and implementation including active work in DOORs and architecture models through detailed design documentation and into code.
- Strong experience with Squadron Data Simulator Software.
- Strong experience with the operations of the REACT console and SMIC equipment.
- Experience with the IOSSP waterfall schedule and how to meet deadlines.
- Familiar with requirements management using DOORS.
